Well, if you put memory chips not suited to your machine, sometimes you can get 
weird lockups, first off is Windows seeing all the memory, right click on My 
computer?

I have 768megs of RAM on this box and I dont have an issue with that which you 
elaborated, but my mileage is different from yours.
