One has no choice. Windows 2000 installs a bunch of programs that must be manually removed if you don't want to use them. I did a search on "How to manually uninstall Outlook Express in Windows 2000" and there it was.. BTW, to overcome the problems of file protection it's easier to rename the files and folders mentioned in Safe Mode. Once all files have been renamed and the computer is running ok, you can boot again into safe mode and delete them.
