BH> Lu'vly... just freakin lu'vly. Depends... Microsoft, and most reviewers over the past year have been pretty up front that Win2K, like NT, does not support the full range of hardware supported by Win9x. Microsoft publishes a hardware compatability list-- and only guarantees that Win2K will work with hardware on that list. Anything else is at your own risk. As well, it's been pretty well-known that Win2K is built on an NT-core, not a DOS-core, as was Win9x. This was a conscious decision on Microsoft's part, trading backwards compatibility for increased stability. You got bitten by that trade-off. If you really need access to the CD-Changer, you could set it up in a cheap, older system, and set up a quick and dirty home network, sharing the CD drives, so they could be accessed by the Win2K system. Or you could always return to Win9x on your main system. Millions of people are still using Win95 or 98-- and will continue to do so for years to come. Microsoft is promising more hardware and software compatibility for the upcoming (NT-based) Windows XP-- but I would be surprised if it supports DOS-level drivers, as you need. ....
