As usual, I'm confused.  I had a PCI scsi card for years, an NCR using
someone else's chipset, that had no bios, none at all.  I tried using a SCSI
hard drive and it booted just fine.  Having a BIOS on the SCSI card is a
very good thing but AFAIK isn't necessary to make the SCSI drive the boot
device, the motherboard BIOS does that.
