I think it was Alan Zisman who pointed out that file associations have
zilch to do with it.  I apparently didn't put in all the conversion
filters when I installed Office 97.  I did find that unless you use
the "Select All" button, it doesn't put everything in.  The way to
do the install is to "Select All", then go through and deselect what
isn't desired, like "Office Assistant"  "FindFast"  "Office Taskbar".
