While I agree with what you've said, let's reserve judgment until release which is still some months away, there are some who believe that scheme will go away before final release due to the thousands of emails Microsoft has received and will receive, none of which can be printed on a family list! If XP does release with the "registration" scheme intact, look for the beginning of the end for Microsoft and a huge upsurge in Linux...
