Subj : W2K problem To : All From : Roger Nelson Date : Fri Apr 22 2005 07:51 am Hello All! I recently reinstalled W2K and came up with a problem I hadn't noticed before. Before I go any frther, my machine is: W2K SP2 400MHz CPU 384Mb of RAM (I remember when I started out, I had only 384K of RAM) 13Gig drive ATI Rage 128 video card w/32Mb of memory DirectX 8.1 Latest video drivers from ATI specifically for W2K. The problem is I can't get out of 16 color mode no matter what I try. During those times when I successfully changed to 1024x768x32-bit color mode, upon reboot, the monitor stayed blenk, so I have to press the reset button (the 3-finger salute doesn't work) and press F8 to enable VGA mode. I have googled this problem in the NGs, and have fouund no solution. Any help appreciated. Regards, Roger --- Msged/386 TE 06 (pre) * Origin: NCS BBS (1:3828/7) .
