I do READ a lot though - this was a article in the BB> paper. BB> Probably the same guy then. He had a real handle on the issue BB> but of course ignored. :) That's what really made this particular show so spectacular. It was fair and balanced giving each sides' spokepersons for each view equal time switching from one view to the other. One side used a lot of sound bites and rhetoric ( what else did they have? All their justifications for war have been proven fraudulent) and the other side went into the details of the underlying problems that were well known even prior to the Iraq invasion. Almost two years later the experts have been vindicated in almost every respect as regards to Iraq while the administration war hawks have been shown to have gotten most everything wrong. I thought I'd only see one _Vietnam_ in my lifetime but here we're actually potentially in a far worse situation if it unfolds as badly as it could :-( Optimistic estimates pre-war had the U.S. out in as little as six months with worst case views being pushed as 2 years. Well two years is approaching, major combat with heavy weapons continues in Iraqi cities and the latest optimistic estimates are we could be out of Iraq in as little as four years :-( The situation could improve ( unlikely IMO) or it could really snowball into an as not yet recognized unprecidented disaster involving the entire region. The weapons buy back program the U.S. is pushing in Iraq just now has some really bad flaws. The U.S. is paying pretty stiff prices for machine guns, granade launchers and mortors and those funds could simply be used to purchase MORE weapons or even fund terrorist attacks on U.S. soil if pooled as a preplanned strategy. Then too Patriot Act II stands lurking on the horizon :-( Terrorists aren't the only threat to the U.S. and it's democratic republic, our reactions to those threats pose a most significant threat to our way of life and civil liberties. At least a couple of provisions of The Patriot Act have been overturned as unconstitutional. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
