ACPI = Advanced Configuration Power Interface.  The version of ACPI 
determines (Win2000 and XP) the power settings, power saver settings, 
and shut down\start up for the machine.

All (over 99%) motherboards produced since 2001 are ACPI version 2 
compatible and will work with Win2000/XP.  Boards produced before that 
time may also be compatible.

You can download it from the MS web site.  It's a rather large download.
