From the lead in paragraph on the MS web page with URL = http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/howtobuy/upgrading/advisor.asp The Upgrade Advisor is a tool that checks your system hardware and software to see if it is ready for upgrade to Windows XP. If you run Upgrade Advisor while you are connected to the Internet, and if your system needs updates that are available on the Windows Update Web site, Upgrade Advisor will find and install the updates for you. I might add that later on it warns that the download is 50Meg. Not something you would want to do unless you have broadband of some sort. It checks an number of things. Gives you warnings (e.g. print drivers, scanners) on things that might be an issue. dale (at) min (dot) net (1:261/1466) ....
