Then check the printer Charles, Will have to check how to do a firmware reset. I have done this on some LJ4x laser printers, usually to reset the Jet Direct card. *** Quoting Charles Scaglione to Rich Wonneberger dated 05-26-03 *** > Odd as it may sound, it may even be the memory in the printer that's > causing it. Its only got the 1 meg thats built in. *** Quoting Charles Scaglione to Rich Wonneberger dated 05-26-03 *** > HP LaserJet printers are very durable and have a long life but when > they > start to do strange things for no apparent reason, it's usually because > some electronic component within the printer itself is defective. I I have pulled my hair out twice with 2 different LJ-4SI printers. They both were low mileage (not even 100k pages) and were jamming on the 2nd page. One page prints were ok. I put in the maintenance kits in (every roller in the printer), fuser, toner, and even changed the input assembly in the first one. Turned out to be the main board in both. HP said it was a timing problem in them. I dont think this printer is worth the $$$ for repair. Thanks Rich I-Net turtil@frontiernet.net ....
