Ballpark: object-oriented design is like left field, while structural design is like the parking lot. A publisher is like a peanut vendor working the stands, while a subscriber is sort of like the pitcher and the shortstop rolled into a single entity, but without the gloves. Reference counting happens at the turnstiles. Clear? More seriously, puzzlecracker, I've seen your posts on several of the newsgroups I frequent and suspect you may be appearing on others I do not. This is an effective way to troll, but a particularly ineffective way to learn something; Usenet is not a good medium for teaching. If you are trying to learn, your posts have elicited many references that you should now study; come back when and if you need particular points clarified, but don't expect Usenet to teach you Swahili literature by a sort of electronic correspondence course. If you're trolling, on the other hand, may all your E-mail addresses appear multiple times on the lists of every spammer in Creation for all time to come. -- Eric.Sosman@sun.com .
