Hi bobby,

If by hang you mean nothing else will be processed, the anwser is no,
it will not hang the CPU. The thread will be treated like another
thread that may do a lot of computation. The effect is that, the thread
will use up its timeslices without doing anything.

Generally, such a thread is put to sleep (by your code) and awakened
when something is ready. That way, the scheduler will not waste
timeslices on it.
