If not,how is the scheduling of other tasks performed? Hi bobby, If by hang you mean nothing else will be processed, the anwser is no, it will not hang the CPU. The thread will be treated like another thread that may do a lot of computation. The effect is that, the thread will use up its timeslices without doing anything. Generally, such a thread is put to sleep (by your code) and awakened when something is ready. That way, the scheduler will not waste timeslices on it.
