Subj : How to reach users of parallel programming systems? To : comp.programming.threads From : Michael Suess Date : Thu Jun 09 2005 11:18 am Hi, do you know of ways to reach the users of parallel programming systems? Let me tell you why I need that. I am presently conducting a survey on parallel programming, to find out about what languages and libraries (short: pps - parallel programming systems) are in actual use today. The address is here, if you are interested: http://www.plm.eecs.uni-kassel.de/parasurvey/ This is part of a bigger project, described here: http://www.plm.eecs.uni-kassel.de/plm/index.php?id=534 Another big part of this project is the Parawiki, which might be of interest to you as well: http://parawiki.plm.eecs.uni-kassel.de As you can see, most of the projects I mentioned here live from the participation of actual users. I tried to make all of this more known, by sending a call for help to several mailing lists / newsgroups / forums and got a good start from that (about 50 participants in the survey). You can see which communication channels I already tried here: http://parawiki.plm.eecs.uni-kassel.de/parawiki/index.php/Parallel_Programming_Groups Of course, I would like to reach more people, and of course only the right people who are involved in parallel programming somehow (do not want to spam a lot of people who are not into parallel programming either). If you have any ideas about communication channels I missed, it would be very kind if you could share them with me! Oh, and of course it would also be nice if you filled out the survey and contributed to the Parawiki :-). Thanks a lot for your help, Best Regards, Michael Suess P.S.: Actually, I wanted to post this to comp.parallel, but the group seems a little low on traffic and so I chose this one, as always something is happening around here. I hope you forgive me this slightly OT-post! -- "What we do in life, echos in eternity..."
