Someone else pointed out that on amazon.uk the reviews rate the book far better, the same is true for the german amazon site. For the first review one the site that you have linked: the book from Stevens is quit good and covers a little bit about threading. But when you see that Stevens write some wrappers around pthread functions to introduce an errno like global error state variable, you will get that Stevens don't got what threading is all about. And maybe this is true for the review author too ;-) regards Torsten .
