Subj : Syslog logger facility problem To : comp.os.linux From : bptrain Date : Wed Dec 22 2004 10:13 pm When using logger to generate syslog messages, the kern facility is somehow translated to user facility (which I understand is the default facility). e.g. - syslog.conf line has to say... user.info -/var/log/firewall in order to capture kern.info messages sent with logger. (That line also captures 'real' user.info logger messages). Has anybody else seen this? Could it be a logger bug?
