I am trying to configure bincimap on my Debian system. This is utilizing the
checkpw program, which tries to authenticate against ~Maildir/.password

I just want to use normal usernames and passwords for the imap session.

How do I achieve this ?

Do I need an alternative authenticator ? Is there one for debian ?
