I'm using Slack 10 with 2.4.26 though I think there won't much difference between slack and debian when talking about kernel, I do have config file but it's a bit lengthy. See my notebook is incompatible with APM and ACPI suspension and I found this software suspension equal or closer enuf to as hibernation which is not in official kernel source tree yet. I patched compiled however (created partition, though i liked file better cuz of flexibility). It was quite good at first glance cuz it worked as it claimed. in x session, system hibernated and turned off, when turned on it got me right back to where i was before, the x session. but then my usb and modem doesn't work anymore after resume. So, before hibernation and after resume are not the quite same ;\ .
