Enable WINS support in smb.conf, restart the samba daemons, edit the network config on each of the Windows pc's (put the samba server's IP address in the WINS Server field), and see if it works. Note that it can take up to 5 minutes for the Windows pc's to announce themselves to the WINS server. You might want to use the Swat Web GUI tool to admin the samba server's config. If you are sitting in front of the samba server and it's running a GUI desktop (KDE, GNOME, etc), point your Web Browser to http://localhost:901 From any other machine, point the Web browser to http://IP_address_of_the_samba_server:901 Good luck, Larry -- Anti-spam address, change each 'X' to '.' to reply directly. .
