The thing is: there is no such file as /usr/bin/raw. I could find it in the util-linux rpm, but not on the harddrive. I tried the same thing on Fedora Core 2, which installs raw, but there the message I receive whenever trying to run raw is: Cannot open master raw device '/dev/rawctl' (No such device or address). In that release I could see a lot of raw devices under /dev/raw, but cannot create any new one :) So, I guess I have to read the document Lenard pointed out.
