I'm at Sheffield Hallam University here in the UK.

I do plan to do plenty of research. I'm currently in my third year on 
placement which gives me nearly a year to research what I want to do for 
my final year. So my plan is to research OSs, ASM, a bit of low level 
driver programming maybe for the Linux kernel (I've done a bit of proc 
stuff but that's it). I also considered joining a lesser developed open 
source OS such as AROS and maybe playing around with that a bit.

You're obviously from the UK =o) I didn't do O' levels, as you can 
imagine, I did GCSEs. But I agree, which is why i'm planning to do a 
masters but I'm not sure where.
