Subj : tcc - Will my code be compatible with 586 machines ? To : alt.comp.os.linux,alt.os.linux,comp.os.linux From : markhobley Date : Tue Nov 02 2004 11:07 pm I am using Tiny C Compiler (tcc). I use the switches -mcpu=i586 and -march=i586. The compiler gives no errors. I am not sure whether the compiler is obeying these or just silently ignoring them. Will the produced binaries run on a classic pentium machine? My compilation machine has an AMD processor, but I require the produced binaries to be Pentium compatible. I don't want any AMD specific instructions or any instructions not available on a classic Pentium to be embedded into the compiled files. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
