Subj : Dependecies where does it stop

I'm very new with Linux but trying to get around...

I'm trying to install spamassasin onto my webserver which runs fedora. Is it 
normal that you have to install all dependecies and where does this story 
stop for example...
for spamassasin.rpm ... you need
perl which needs
libdb-4.2 which needs
libstdc++.so

Is there a work around or what should seem logically a tot rpm package for 
i.e. spamassasin??

Every help is more then welcome
