The HOWTO doesn't say that the kernel stripes swap *partitions*, it says 
that the kernel will stripe swapping on several *devices*. So if you 
want to swap to multiple devices, just create multiple swap partitions 
on several devices.

The devices can of course be hardware RAID-0 devices, but I guess it is 
a lot cheaper to get more RAM. Better performance too.
