It works on Laptops and Desktops, and even with AGP Rage Pro video cards. It took a few tries to get the screen thing right. Knoppix and LNX-BBC let #superuser mount hard drives as read/write. Knoppix also has a full OpenOffice environment which understands all the files from Windows office suite (Word, Excel). If you have luck with Mandrake, let us know how it loads and looks. I have only had one Linux flavor reject a semi-old device. Strangely, it was Fedora Core 2, and it didn't like the 3Com 10/100 NIC (standard chip set). I popped in a ten year old ISA NIC and all was well. .
