And after I have finished installing RH 9.0 will there be a > choice > menu appearing on restart? > Tsun, I was surprised one day when I put SuSE 9.1 Personal image into a CD drive and it recognized that I had Win98 installed, and it asked if I wanted to make the unused portion of the (unpartitioned) hard drive into a new partition for SuSE. It did all the "partition magic" and after a dozen mouse-clicks, I had a dual-boot Win98/SuSE9.1. I am not advocating SuSE, but I have not seen Red Hat or Fedora do the same. Maybe I just haven't tinkered enough. RHL, FC, SuSE recognize all hard drives connected and powered-up while installing. They also recognize when you change any piece of hardware, and launch KUDZU, which asks if you want to delete the old device driver (you may keep it on your system) and install the new device driver. GRUB or LILO will give you the choice of which OS to boot, most geeks like LILO. I like GRUB. It has a graphic splash screen and it's completely editable in /boot/grub/menu.lst (must be superuser). It's a fun toy. I'm a Linux noob, and I'm collecting a bunch of flavors. I have two goals: #1 is to make a Linux web server so I can start hosting the web sites I write (using notepad!). #2 is to convert all my Winders friends to Linux. I already have a DBA friend (a total code geek) begging me to learn quicker and change her WinXP to dual-boot or just Linux-something. Have fun. Don't forget to enjoy the sun and the rain. .
