Can't multiple glibc versions > reside on the same system? glibc is very tricky to update - do it wrong and your system is unbootable. You can try recompiling the software you're installing, so it's linked to your version of glibc. Sybren -- The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? .
