Subj : Re: Slackware 10.0 Partioning help To : comp.os.linux From : kr0m3 Date : Fri Sep 24 2004 01:36 pm "old guy" you, my friend, are not even an intelligent troll....although troll you indeed are. this thread has been dominated by your contentious diatribe and it is obvious that you enjoy nothing more than proclaiming your tid-bits of actual knowledge as though they somehow make you an expert on anything more than how to read a book and quote someone else's wisdom. half of your posts read like a "mine is bigger than yours" scribble on a restroom wall and the other half are obviously cut-and-paste snippits from google or some half-used book you have on a dusty shelf. you have done absolutely nothing to assist the original poster's question. when people such as mutant or myself offer valid points for the poster to consider (as well as offer additional resources) all you can try to do is poke holes in the methodology as though you are some sort of self-appointed guru on system administration. you tout things such as disk-quotas as though they will resolve any problem that may occur that could result in data loss (ever hear of hardware failure you twit?) and seem to take great pride in suggesting that any sort of attack stems from improper permissions (duh. any human death results from a loss in breathing, moron). i believe that there are several of us that are fairly competent in administering several platforms and doubt very seriously that any book-quoting bottom-feeder such as yourself (here is your opportunity to impress us all by responding with some crap list of certifications and accomplishments...hurry, i'll hold my breath...) will have much in the way of original contributions. Simply regurgitating information you glean from search-engines and your local book store in an effort to discredit anybody else's opinion does absolutely nothing for your credibility and further, IMHO, is a stain on the open-source community and one of the leading reasons that we are treated so cynically in the popular media. One of the beautiful things about the open-source community is that there are so many contributing authors and technical individuals, each with their own agendas and reasons for doing things. It is a shame that someone such as yourself has to attempt to discredit anything that doesn't fit with your particular vision. You seem to enjoy picking fights and dissecting other people's words instead of contributing to the community. What a waste. You may (or likely may not) be a fairly intelligent git. I really couldn't say. However, based on the tone and content of your postings here, I think perhaps your time would better be served by returning to Elementary school and practicing rule #1: Playing well with others. I await your scathing return with extreme disinterest. ~k -- kr0m3 - supervillian When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.
