If it helps, here's my menu.lst to boot two different Debian installations on the same machine: timeout 10 default 0 title Debian 2 root (hd1,0) kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb1 vga=791 initrd /initrd.img title Debian 1 root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz vga=791 initrd /initrd.img Grub is installed into and managed by "Debian 1" but I'm using "Debian 2" more often than not these days so it's the default. It's only above "Debian 1" because I wanted it to be the first item in the menu. I've omitted the remaining entries for "Rescue" and a couple of other options to keep things simple. -- Andy. .
