Subj : DNS and NAT Question To : comp.os.linux From : lancecreed Date : Mon Sep 13 2004 12:58 pm I have setup a linux (Suse 9.1) box in our office running dhcp, ipmasq and firewall to use when we install new computers to protect them from virus and also to get them on the network without having to wait for the MAC address registration to go through with campus networking. The pc's cannot join the domain from behind the linux box even with the firewall disabled. I am getting the "domain" name not found error. I have tried dnsmasq as well as setting the WINS and DNS servers to the external servers manually. Even with a modified lmhosts file the pc's are not able to join the domain, with the same error. They are, however, capable of getting on the internet, mapping drives etc without a problem. The only issue is joining the domain. Any ideas? .
