.... you are completely contradicting yourself here.

you want to unmount, closing files some process(es)
have open on that partition. why do you think umount 
works in that fashion?  that's like saying,
"i want to disconnect the CABLE TV cable from the
 wall, but i still want to be able to record the
 program".

why in the world would you want to do that? 

how do you expect those processes to act after you 
pull the rug out from under them?
