Subj : Weird internet problem in Debian To : comp.os.linux From : Paul Nolan Date : Sun Sep 05 2004 01:03 am Hi, I recently (a couple of months ago) switched back to Debian, and while nearly everything is fine (some stuff even better - it's faster for one) I've run into a strange problem with internet software. The stuff I use most of the time (Firefox, Thunderbird & Konqueror, as well as a few others) work fine, but I've noticed some others (Opera, wget, even ping for some reason) can't resolve any addresses except sephiroth and edea (my local computers). If the problem was global, I'd think it was my network setup, but as it's only a few programs I'm drawing a blank. Any ideas? (I really need to use wget to grab something, as it's a pain in the arse getting the whole thing separately with Firefox) -- Paul Nolan Veni veni venias - ne me mori facias! .
