Subj : Re: Help! Accidentally deleted linux partition To : comp.os.linux From : oliver.s Date : Wed Sep 01 2004 05:17 am Thanks for the suggestions. I have solved the problem now - linux is loading as it should. However, I still have 5Gb of unpartitioned/unformatted hard disk space, and since I already have four primary partitions I am not sure what to do with it. My hard disk is partitioned as follows: hda1 - Windows (NTFS) hda2 - Linux (/boot) hda3 - Linux (swap) hda4 - Linux extended hda5 - Linux (/) logical partition of hda4 The unpartitioned space lies between hda1 and hda2. How can I arrange this (using fpart or something) so that the free space is part of the extended partition (I take it they still need to be contiguous on disk) Can an extended partition contain a ext3 part and a FAT32 part? Thanks, Oliver .
