If knoppix starts from the cd I would do a knx-hdinstall from the root shell. (or you could try damnsmall linux). It is based on debian so apt-setup and apt-get, aptitude works after the instalation. I use vmware my self but this project looks promising http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/ to runn native windows. Best Regards Staale .
