Subj : Updating or not... that's the question!!! :-) To : comp.os.linux From : Jean Cote Date : Mon Aug 30 2004 03:59 pm Hi all, I'm using Redhat 8.0 (2.4.20-28.8) everyday at work for more than a year now. I'm happy with it. I have vmware install for Window$2000 and QNX/Neutrino. I'm wondering if I should update my system or not. Am I obsolete with this setup and should I update to Fedora or another distro like suse, Mandrake or any other one? My main use is for developing applications in C or C++ with libraries like fltk, MesaGL 6.0, glut 3.7, linpack and more. I mostly use g++ compiler. I use vmware to compile my applications under Window$2000 and QNX/Neutrino. So vmware must still works with the new distro/update. What do you think I should do: update or not? Am I missing new stuff by not updating or changing to a new distro? Should I stay with Redhat 8.0? Any advices are welcome! regards, Jean .
