Yes, the output is the same using either method (lsmod or cat /proc/modules). Just like the man page for lsmod says. Yes, lsmod is a trivial program. It's also 8Kbytes. How is that bloated? Was the output of /proc/modules always there, and the same as what lsmod outputs? Maybe it's a historical thing? -- Stu .
