Subj : Pinnacle PCTV PRO card To : comp.os.linux From : a_mukherji Date : Sat Aug 28 2004 11:03 pm Hi All, I am struggling to get the Pinnacle pctv pro card to work on my Redhatlinux 9, kernel version 2.4.25. Basically I was trying to get the radio portion of this card to work on linux. A very strange thing. If I go to windows and start pinnacle radio then I boot into linux, atleast FM radio works. But after power up without going to windows I come directly to linux, then FM radio does not work. I was wondering why ? I did a modprobe bttv. Following are the messages from dmesg : bttv: driver version 0.9.12 loaded bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture bttv: Bt8xx card found (0). bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 01:02.0, irq: 9, latency: 32, mmio: 0xceafe000 bttv0: detected: Pinnacle PCTV [card=39], PCI subsystem ID is 11bd:0012 bttv0: using: Pinnacle PCTV Studio/Rave [card=39,autodetected] bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00fffbff [init] msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3410G-B11 +nicam +simple +radio msp3410: daemon started i2c-core.o: client [MSP3410G-B11] registered to adapter [bt878 #0 [sw]](pos. 0). tvaudio: found pic16c54 (PV951) @ 0x96 i2c-core.o: client [pic16c54 (PV951)] registered to adapter [bt878 #0 [sw]](pos. 1). i2c-core.o: adapter bt878 #0 [sw] registered as adapter 0. bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... found bttv0: pinnacle/mt: id=2 info="PAL+SECAM / stereo" radio=yes bttv0: using tuner=33 bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... found bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found bttv0: registered device video0 bttv0: registered device vbi0 bttv0: registered device radio0 bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 . ok I verified by giving other card name also, I found card type 39 most suitable. But still my problem is whatever radio station is tuned in windows, I can listen to the only that station in linux, I cannot tune in any new station in linux also every time I power on I have to go to windows [I hate this] then come to linux. Any solution please ? Thanks, Ambar .
