Some info about my configuration: I have ONLY 2 80mm fans (the air from 
the fans went outside the case) to the back cover. AMD does NOT 
recommend using front fans... Summer now, and before using the fans, in 
some cases (eg kernel compilation), the temps ~= 70 C!!! After putting 
them (the fans) temps <= 63 C (with case closed) and <= 66 C (case open) 
  using xmms with opengl plugins and a geforce 2 MX 400 graphic card.
But, think of it... maybe you are looking at the wrong direction... i 
mean it could be a M/B problem, or overheating from the M/B chipset, or 
the graphics card chip, or ... Here (in greece), as i am comp 
engineering, you never know what exactly happened, and you cannot 
explain exactly what the hell is going on with this #$%@#$!*^ h/w 
configuration!!! keep trying...
