The madness will only stop when people can no longer hide behind a group. I mean, I live in Holland. There's 16 million of us. The only thing I have done to become Dutch is to be accidently born here. Does that give me the right to speak as the whole group, for Holland? Most of my fellow Dutch probably couldn't even find Holland on an unmarked map. Most certainly don't show any indication of basic intelligence... Anyway, if I were to speak on behave of the Dutch I would be making a very bad mistake: what I have in common with t ALL other Dutch is probably equally little as what I have in common with ALL other Americans or anyone for that matter. Stimulating patriotism is nothing more than stimulating a sense of being different (and in America's case, being better, superior) than another group of people. Carelessly forgetting that there wasn't a group to begin with. .
