Subj : Network block device support, how useful/practical is it? To : comp.os.linux From : thegalorin Date : Wed Aug 25 2004 07:18 am I've got a small network here with only one CD burner. If I want to use it, I'll ssh into the machine anad use whatever app to burn that way. Other than the implications of swapaping cd's, etc. is it practical to use the nbd support on clients and share the burner that way? What benefits/drawbacks are there to this approach compared to CODA, NFS, etc? Is there anything about nbd that isn't obvious from the docs included in the kernel, and it's sourceforge page? Mr. Galorin .
