Many applications also support something called "ldap address book". For emails you can use standard unix mbox format (just create a folder in Thunderbird that is mbox, copy all your messages there, locate the mbox file, and then import messages from it into Evolution). For appointments there is iCalendar protocol (like either vCard or ldap address book, I don't remember exactly). If you have an exchange server available, you can put your MS Outlook data there, connect from Ximian and then copy the data to local folders. Cheers, Peter http://www.dialore.com .
