I'm currently running Mandrake 10.0 on a Toshiba 1415-S173. On the whole it works well, though I have had some problems when installing NVIDIA's geForce 2 3d acceleration drivers (props to http://www.cnpbagwell.com/toshiba.html for helpful clues). If you absolutely need Windoze, you can certainly try running Wine by itself, but be forewarned, it is not an easy application to configure, and if it isn't properly configured it can be very, very bad. More to the point, with the freely available, open source version of wine, there's little guaruntee that a particular application will install and run, and to the best of my knowledge none of the distributions make any independent efforts to improve this. You seem to need support for a specific application, and in that case it might be useful to check out code-weavers CrossOverOffice product http://www.codeweavers.com/site/products/. Good luck .
