Wrong.
Samba 3 can join an AD domain as a member server.
If you run the winbind daemon you will have (limited) access to user 
auth information from an AD domain.
Which should be enough to implement this stuff.

You haven't properly investigated (SuSE) Open-Xchange server I think...
Most of this would be apparent from their specs.
