Subj : Looking for a small distribution of Linux.

I'm rather new to Linux and I'm looking for a good distribution that
is well suited for untilizing the system as an Apache server and
doesn't take up much hard drive space(under a gig). Thanks in advance
if you can point me out to one or tell me how I should go about
starting with just the kernel.
