Subj : Re: kernel panic booting problem ! To : comp.os.linux From : wilson.huang Date : Sun Aug 15 2004 07:51 pm I have put my hd in raid, and it recognizes as primary ide. The raid is disabled in the jumper configuration. The linux nows maps the hd as hda. I´m still getting a kernel panic problem. something like: VFS: cannot open root devie "300" or unknown-block(0,3) Please append a correct "root=" boot option kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown block(0,3) but I´m sure my lilo conf root= boot option is right. I´ve assigned root=/dev/hda8 where /dev/hda6 -> boot /dev/hda7 -> swap /dev/hda8 -> root any tips ? tks Wilson .
