How can this be done? > Can some Linux mail server pool all emails from other accounts (doing all > the necessary blacklist, virus and spam filtering), and then Outlook > accessing only the ones that passed through? - The linksys shoulrd forward port 25 to the linux machine (some ISPs may block this port, which makes it not possible to setup a proper mailserver). - Install SMTP (sendmail, postfix or qmail) on your linux box, best to take packages provided by your distro. - Install imap or/and pop3 (there are many options, best is to select the packages provided by your distro). - Install spamassassin (checks for spam) and you can use procmail to filter away the mail or collect all spam in a own mailbox. - Install fetchmail, which collects mail from other mailservers to your local machine, can handle different users. The main prople may be the outlook, which may not want to work according to rfc, so I would really suggest you to look into to use a better mail program. //Aho .
