Subj : Whither bigphysarea in 2.6 kernels?

Anyone know what the deal is with this patch for 2.6 kernels?  

For the uninitiated: bigphysarea allows for the allocation of large(!)
contiguous blocks of memory for specialized applications such as frame
grabbers.  see here:

Has this functionality been built into the 2.6 branch, or will I need
to brew up a whole new patch?
