Subj : Newbie: getting nVidia DualView to work! To : comp.os.linux From : Willem van der Berg Date : Sun Aug 08 2004 06:05 pm Hello, I've finally decided to take the plunge with Linux, after more than 12 years of DOS/Windows. I find myself right back in the newbie category and I'm anxious to get out! However, I need some help... I have installed SuSE Linux 9.0 Professional. I have managed to install KDE 3.2. My hardware seems to be working more or less okay. There are still issues, one of them with my videocard. I've got the nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4400 128 MB videocard, correctly identified by Linux. I've installed nVidia's drivers and 3D features are enabled. I've got a Dell 1504FP TFT monitor and a IIyama Vision Master Pro 411 CRT monitor connected. On my XP partition the TFT monitor is the main screen, the CRT monitor serves as secondary. Unfortunately, on Linux my CRT monitor is the only one found and used as main screen. Whenever I try to change my settings in YaST2/Sax2, I get this error: Monitor (0) with ID: Dell300D not found Please setup your monitor manually. Do you want to start the configuration dialog to setup the display now? Clicking Yes only seems to allow me to change the settings for the CRT monitor. I can't seem to add a second monitor or anything. Frankly I don't have a clue on how to proceed and would really appreciate some help. I just want TFT + CRT to work again, switching to TV + TFT and back would be perfect. I hope someone can help me with this question. Many thanks in advance! Willem van der Berg p.s. if you require more information, feel free to ask. I'm not sure what to provide cos I'm a newbie :) .
