Use something clearly invalid. spam.invalid is an excellent choice. fillipo@spam.invalid for instance. 2) Set the From: email address in your newsreader to this address. 3) Set the Reply-to address to your real address. To get this address, the spammer has to download the whole message (not just the headers) so they don't bother. There are plenty of addresses in From: headers they can use without wasting time downloading bodies. Or, if you have your own domain, you can do as I have done. My address gets very little spam (and is valid and checked).
