Well is there a choice other than Linux??? : )
My wife have a degree in computing BSc or something like that so she can use
any system. I've been working with computers since CP/M and CP/M+ so I'm
rather familliar to computers. So using Linux is not a big issue.

KDE is perfect for children to use it is very easy to start applications
with only one single click rather then the M$ dblclick.
